Does anyone know where I can find information (database?) about seat slider distance for multiple brands? This will make finding a used non-Galant replacement seat much easier.

I’m looking for seats that fit without significant modification. Something comfy and supportive.

My Galant ‘rally’ wagon’s got flat unsupportive seats that seem to have dealt with fat people in their almost 19 years. They aren’t comfortable anymore. I’ll be spending 8 hours a day for a week in them, so swapping the seats is attractive.

So far I’ve actually measured the distance in multiple cars. ‘85 Prelude is 10 cm narrower, ‘01 Hyundai coupe/Tiburon and Peugeot 308 mk1 are 5 cm narrower, Peugeot 406 coupe seems like a direct fit.

All my seat swapping knowledge came from my Subaru days, were most of the cars had nearly enough the exact same mounting points, so Legacy seats could fit an Impreza, and vice versa.

I’d look at Eclipse seats, since the Galant was pretty much a Eclipse sedan (or wagon, in your case) structurally.

Not sure if you’ve looked at forums, but I’m sure someone has tried to swap seats before.

This is the distance between the two rails, right?

Wouldn’t it make more sense to fabricate a bracket that bolts to the stock location and then has the bolts in perfect alignment for the replacement?

I’m likely going to have to do that for the Audi, since the VW method of rear brackets is side mounted slides.

Look at seat pan swaps, worked for my mr2 when I put s2000 seats into it.
